NO SUCH THING

I first discovered Manny, Noah, and Devan by way of their chicken bone episode on Search Engine, another of my top pod choices. I was excited to learn they had their own podcast and have been working my way through all the episodes. I love their relaxed style, laughter, and friendship, combined with interesting investigations. I’m also super impressed that they’re putting this all together without a bigger team supporting them. Highly recommended!

This is a great podcast, it’s like if you could follow up on and research the little inconsequential questions that pop into your head and then you move on from. My only criticism is that sometimes I find it hard to hear/concentrate on the dialogue because of the sounds and music they put in the background. It’s only annoying a few times per episode though, and it’s worth it to keep going. Update: the intrusive background music behind the calls in the advice episode was too loud and distracting- I just can’t do it anymore. I’ll check back in 6 months or so and see if they’ve fixed this and I can start listening again.

Stumbled upon NST after it was featured on another podcast. Scratches that great itch that is missing right now in the podcasting space: fun, small stories told in an interesting way.

Devan is thoughtful, and the other two, not so much. Ex: In “Coupon Etiquette..” the advice from one of the guys was essentially to undermine/disrespect your gf (“she’s going to be nagging me…”) to your buddies instead of just making a reasonable request on behalf of a partner. Immature and suggested a low opinion of women.
