As far as this case goes I’ve steered clear of any real media attention other than the first time stepdad gave an interview and referred in the past tense of what his child “loved” to do. It was at that point where a little feeling crept over me but… knowing the internet as I’ve come to understand it, I knew all kinds of things were about to change in terms of social media. People deciding what, where, when, who and why had taken place, without a clue as to what they’re talking about! The truth is many people THINK they know what they would do under the same circumstances but what is also true is those same people lack the empathy to consider everything involved in the circumstance of a missing child. That’s when they project all of their own dysfunction into the story when they have never experienced the trauma involved when a child comes up missing. Some of them may not even have children so how could they possibly say what they would do. A missing child is the most frightening feeling in the world. Even if you’ve lost your child in a department store because they were playing a one sided game of hide and seek! It’s traumatizing and not something I would wish on anyone, never mind start making accusations against parents who are living in a nightmare like that. Opinions are like farts. Everybody has more than one. It’s just some are stinkier than others. The only reason I listened to this particular podcast was the write up indicated you would separate fact from fiction. Thank you for that! All anyone should be offering are prayers or good thoughts or hope, light and love. Whatever they are most comfortable with. When one farts under the blanket it is counter productive to wave the blankets around! God bless those poor parents and what they’re living through. I’ve witnessed miracles. They can happen. They do happen but even if in this case no miracle is forthcoming, I offer my love, support and prayers to everyone who have love for these two littles!
I hope you give the other perspectives

I’m currently listening to the episode with the RCMP officer and there’s a lot of gaps in the story about why the police are no longer trusted and why the courts no longer take police at their word. It would be helpful to have another perspective like Crown Counsel or a Defence Lawyer (not Kyla Lee). Also, he gave several incorrect pieces of information on the actual law. This is why police should not give legal advice. But right now it seems like a very biased podcast framing things incorrectly, which is not assisting in the public confidence in the police or the criminal justice system. They are contributing to the problem.

I love these podcasts and as I crime junkie, I love hearing the twists and turns of how crimes can be solved.
Very impressed with the accountability

I’ve come back to edit my review of this podcast. I had originally written a scathing one star review after enjoying a handful of episodes, because I had heard a Jordan Peterson ad in the middle of an episode and we are a hard NOPE on supporting misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, power hungry men in my household. The team at TNTC tracked me down on insta to personally reach out and let me know that they were unaware the ad was running, and that “ads can be dynamically inserted on a regional basis. We do have perimeters set with our host platform but we have heard that some ads slip through by using stealth labeling.” They thanked me for notifying them (even though my review was particularly salty), and let me know they were working with their ad team to resolve and remove the ad. To say I’m pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. THIS is the way you take accountability (for a mistake that wasn’t even intentional on their part!) and connect human-human with your audience. Thank you for giving me the benefit of the doubt TNTC, even when I didn’t afford you the same. Thank you for addressing the issue, for reaching out, and thank you for doing the little things to stand on the right side of history in this moment. I’m so happy to have this podcast back in my rotation!
