In the last days of WWII, a brutal campaign led by the Australian forces targeted Japanese-held Borneo in an attempt to seize vital oil fields and airstrips. Fighting across islands and through rainforests, soldiers waged both conventional and guerrilla warfare. But with Japan already on the brink of defeat, many questioned: was it worth it? Eighty years on, Dan is joined by historian and former naval officer Angus Konstam to uncover the strategy, sacrifice, and controversy behind this overlooked campaign.
